Alarm System Issues...

So I recently just installed some rear 6X9 speakers in my 93 SE, and since then the factory alarm system has been going off whenever I lock the doors for no apparent reason. The alarm doesn't go off right away, it usually goes off anywhere between 15 minutes and a few hours after I've locked the doors. Currently, I can't even start the car (no crank which leads me to believe its the battery) and I"m wondering if the alarm system has anything to do with the fact that the car won't start. I've heard of disabling the factory alarm by unplugging it from the anti-theft module underneath the dash, but perhaps I may have tripped the trunk sensor while I was working on the rear speakers. HELP! Any ideas as to what to do or what is wrong?

Who got "short" shorts? (I'll guess there's a short somewhere)

I believe the car won't start because of the ATS (anti theft) unless you lock all doors and reopen them with your key.

I think that happen to me once, but most definitely my girlfriend in her Cressida.

You can always unlock your trunk and disable the anti theft that way to get the car started. If your LOCKING the doors and the alarm goes off on it's own, my guess would be the unit itself.

Yeah I do have an aftermarket alarm left from the previous owner, which I don't use. I'll give the battery disconnect a try, but for how long?

I have the remote for the aftermarket. I'm trying to disconnect the factory alarm but I'm having trouble finding it underneath the dash. People have said it's a silver box marked "anti-theft" and all you have to do is unplug it, but I can't seem to find it. I found where my aftermarket alarm is (its a CodeAlarm), and a silver box underneath the dash, but no markings as to whether or not its anti-theft or not. Anyone have pictures or diagrams as to where the anti-theft is?

Gosh darnit.. When I had my 92 SE the alarm started going off also for no reason. When I would unlock/lock the doors to reset the alarm nothing would happen. I ended up pulling some fuses to make it stop. Unfortunately, when I did that, the radio stations all would reset everytime I turned the car off.

FYI I had to take the whole glove box out and it in the upper Left corner. My unit is like a bronze color.

that would be the keyless entry module, not the anti-theft module

So if I were to disconnect the anti-theft system (I don't live in an area where the car is prone to theft), where would the module be exactly? Does anyone have good instructions as to how to get to it and disconnect it?

the module is located exactly where the FSM says it is, and all you do is unplug the connector.
no we won't say exactly where since it an anti-theft module

I don't have the FSM, it's too expensive. If people are not willing to post it on here, please send me a PM on where it is, I'm not up to any illegal activity here, it's just a huge inconvenience worrying about the car alarm system going off at random points in the night and not knowing any other way of shutting it off but unplugging the battery. Look back on my past posts in this forum, I've had issues with the car before on various things. Hopefully that indicates to some extent that I own the car.

if you've owned the car for years then you should have bought the FSM years ago. they typically run $40 and are well worth it.
