93 94 trans bolt patterns
Will a 93 GXE AT swap directly with a 94 GXE AT? I did a search here and the consensus says yes, but my Haynes manual shows that the bolt patterns are different.
I have to put my SE aside for now, and found a 94 GXE with a bad trans for $500. I hoped to be able to swap the rebuilt trans from my 93 GXE parts car into it. That way I have a cheap ride for the time being, plus get some use out of a perfectly good tranny.
I just need to make sure before I commit: I'd like to hear from someone who has actually completed such a swap so I'm sure. From the illustration in the book, the bolt pattern looks a LOT different. Anyone?

what page in the haynes leads to this conclusion?
as far as i can tell, a vg auto is a vg auto. havent heard any thing contrary to that, cept this thread.
(and i too would rather ask if i knew of contradicting data...)

My local nissan dealer gave me the 4th gen t-stat because i stated my maxima as a 94 when i ordered the part..
Now, when i order any parts,i tell anyplace i order from....93 ve..

You learn real quick to say you own a 93 when you have a 94. I had to when I had my GXE, most every part was for a VQ, then they wouldn't believe me and would walk out to my car and explain to me it was a 94.

It wouldn't be the first time Haynes steered me wrong its just that's all I had to go by for now.
Anyways, its illustrations 7.26a & b on pg 7B-8. I accept the explanation that they mistook the short-run 94 for the 95 VQ (still, thats a pretty dumb mistake), except for the fact that there's another mounting bolt diagram on page 7B-9 which it shows is for the "1995 through 1997 models" (assumed to be the VQ).
The SOB's prolly got that as wrong as well?
I'm just wanting to be sure before I jump in to getting a 3rd Max! You've convinced me that a VG is a VG, thanks guys.
