WIRE HARNESS PROBLEM

i dont know the firing order or piston order on this engine. but i posted on a problem i have been having for a few days now and have found out well almost found out what it is. The Story - for the past couple of days my check engine light has been coming on at random. the engine will start missing and has a rough idle and lose of power. it did it a couple of times today and finally stayed on and is running like poo. i did a couple of test when i got home and found out that the plug that plugs into the coil on the back far left is not letting the plug fire. i swapped plug and then coils and it all points to the plug itself. i only have a light tester to test hot and grounds. the plug is showing hot on the middle plug prong while running same as the rest do. i hope i am making sense. when i unpluge any other plug to the coil the engine loses power to the coil and runs like so. when i unplug the plug to the one i am having trouble with it shows no sign. so i have a plug issue right. what can i do to fix this.

uh, you could have what they call a burnt valve. Do a compression test on all six cylinders and then post the results.

why would it be a burnt valve if the problem is in the harness.

Heh..I've had 2 injectors go out on my ve...both started out the same way as your ve is doing now...at first intermittent...then steadily worse until they stopped working altogether..

Ok, I missed that one....but from your description, to me it sounded like it could have been a burnt valve. That is, didn't matter what coil you had on that cylinder, it stilled skipped. I guess I missed something.

We can't all be right all the time. LOL
