MAF Plug?

Ok, started taking apart the engine to replace vc gaskets. Can somebody please tell me if this plug disconnects? It doesn't look like other plugs/harnesses that I have unplugged and I have been putting moderate force on it to get it out without any luck. I want to clean the MAF.

Basically, how does it disconnect? Thanks a lot for the help.

Yes, it disconnects , but you have to pull the metal wire clip thats holding it secure out first. the clip is about one inch to the left of your green arrow.

you can only see the 2 ends of the clip on each side of the plug. looks like a precisely bent paper clip, use a flat head screw driver to push an end off and some pliers to grab it and pop it off

i let it stay on actually. I use a fine flathead screwdriver, pop one side of the clip out just enough to pull that side of the connector over the little nib the clip catches on, then i hold it in that position while i pop the other side of the clip over its nib, slides right off. then i don't have to worm the clip back onto he plug when i'm done.

I pulled the clip off and just use a piece of baling wire to hold mine on.

that's what i do, too. it's a pain to put the whole clip back on. if you take it off completely, it's so small that sometimes you really have to look for it.

Yep. I lost it. Put it down with the one from the TB assembly and at the end of the day I couldn't find either one. I have no idea. I was outside and it was windy so I guess it could have blown away?? Looks like I'll be getting out the wire!

the wire's easier anyway. done right it doesn't look ghetto, so don't worry about it.

half the connectors on my car are held together with safety wire after the engine swap.. broke too many of them suckers.
