two random questions. optima battery, and engine sludge...

ok I just put a new positive terminal on because my other one broke. weren't many options for these. and I have alot of wires to put on....relay ran foglights, stero, amp, alarm, etc... It was a huge hastle getting all of these on.

I have an optima redtop battery and it also has the things on the side of battery for options of having post there.... how do I do that? and If I use the positive post on the side as well as on top, do I have to ground the side negative one too? anyone have experience with these batteries or maybe a reference to a website that explains it.

Also, I just put new V/C on. Noticed the motor was more black than a golden(was hoping for golden). what works well to clean entire motor, even topside, of sludge, etc. ? I was thinking of puttin some seafoam in either every oil change and keep it in for 2-3k miles or 3months, or putting it in 50 miles before oil change and run it hard.
Is it safe to run seafoam in motor with oil all the time?

1) You can use the other terminal. You don't have to ground the other side AFAIK

2) You can use seafoam in the oil. I put some in about 200 miles before the oil change. But I would NOT drive it hard. Drive easy. You could also consider using Auto-RX which is supposed to gently clean your engine's internals also.

jeff answered your other questions, so i'll just take this one...if you don't care how they look, go to pep boys and get some gm style side posts. iirc, they were like $3-4 for a pair. if you want to show off your engine, you can get some gold or platinum plated ones.
