I've already done the write up with pics. If you can get the lights for $75 then go for it. Both cost me around $270, not to mention the bulb plugs you can get at Auto Zone which is another $5-$10. Not knowing exactly what needed to be done on the first one, then knowing and getting it done on the second light, it took me a totall of about 10 hours. Check the older Threads, you'll find the link, I don't have the address with me at the moment.

If you read the write up, then yup, it's that easy. Again, check the link. The lights are for a '96 3-Series BMW. Just have the dealer open the box and check them out, they are the only ones that look like that, the newer ones have two "dips" below each light on the clear cover, others look like they wrap all the way around to the side lights. Anyway, I was lucky, (I'm from Tennessee you see and no one knows sh@# around here about Max's!) I saw a BMW at the local junk yard, he wouldn't sell them, he was going to repair it and had drove all the way to New York to get it. I was madd! But, I just went to the dealer and bought them new, unscratched for around $270. My bet, you try going to a junk yard, they'll charge you about the same, besides, the lights new come with bulbs, that's about $40+ anyway!

By the way, the visability is truly magnificent! People flash me even when I'm on dim. On Brights, well, let's just say the lights go the distance!

The page was being supported by a fellow member from this forum. I don't know what happened. I'll respond to this thread when/ if I find out! If the site is not back up in a couple of days, email me and I will redo the info and send it to anyone who wants it personally. I'm working on my own site but I'm having some problems, mainly my lack of knowledge for html! Either way, I'll work on it, the site my just be restricted due to construction?

If you buy the BMW lights, remove the bracket. Then, cut at the Max bracket and attach the BMW lights. The wiring harness must be cut, there are three wires, one ground and then a positive for high and low. You'll see the bulb numbers on the lights when you get them. Just go to Auto Zone and get two adaptors for low and two for high then wire appropriately.

Assembly? The bracket is the oem Max bracket for the light. The BMW bracket you can just throw away, it's plastic anyway. And the light harness has to be cut to accomodate two new harnesses instead of one. If you don't use the Oem light bracket, you wouldn't be able to put the grille back on.
