CV Boots

Is there a difference between Nissan factory CV boots and others that any local shop can put on?

Re: CV Boots

I would say Nissan has the top quality. But I have used Napa brand ones w/ good results. I would stay away from the split-type boots though. I think they are leak prone.

Wonder how much Courtesy Nissan sells them for. Any clues?

i though about replacing the boot when mine ripped. i priced out nissan boots and etc and it came out to about 20-30 or so for a boot kit that includes the grease and the clamps...if memory serves me right.
i took a visit to the local parts store..they carry reman axles for 90 bucks w/ lifetime warranty.
two boots 60 bucks
reman axle 90 bucks

yes i got a new axle...30 bucks more, a lot less work. lifetime warranty is a pretty good deal too.
