but during the swap... this happened to the paint and it's just in nasty condition overall... it has a few random dents that i DO NOT KNOW the origin of (even a few in the hood... wtf?) http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1213647054

yes, I pulled my broken a/t at night, in the rain. Actually the majority of the swap was done after dark because i kept waking up at like 3pm every day and it was during february. so NOW, the value of my car is far far lower... but i'm working on getting it back up again. not to sell, rather, because I want my car to be purty again.
Capedcadaver: I can understand your challenge; it must have been tough using only a scissor-jack and a yellow flashlight to hold your car up while pulling the trani...

om I got my 91 GXE FOR ONLY $1000 WITH 150K MILES ON IT AND IT HAD ALMOST EVERYTHING. I DIDN'T HAVE THE SPOILER AND I DON'T HAVE A SUNROOF OR FOG LIGHTS BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT. I'VE NEVER HAD TO CHANGE THE TIMING BELT OR THE TRANS AND ITS AUTOMATIC V6. JUST RECENTLY I HAD TO CHANGE MY ALTERNATOR AT 180K AND THAT KINDA MESSED UP SOME STUFF. NOW MY HYDROLICS IN MY HOOD DON'T WORK AND MY CRUISE CONTROL DON'T WORK EITHER AND NIETHER DOES MY INSIDE LIGHTS. SO THATS MORE WORK. BUT I LOVE MY MAXIMUS. THIS IS THE LONGEST RELATIONSHIP I'VE EVER HAD LOL LOL LOL LOL. 5 YEARS AND STILL PUSHING THIS 17 YEAR OLD CAR PAST 115 ON THE FREE WAY!!! STUFF JUST REALLY SEEM TO FIX ITSELF WITH THIS CAR..... IT WAS RUNNING HARD ONE DAY BUT THEN I DROVE IT FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND IT HAS RAN QUIET EVERY SINCE. MAGICALLY

umm.... how long have you had the car? if it has 180k on it now, its time for a new t-belt. if you do not know, do it NOW if you want to keep the car doing "115 on the free way." of course a tbelt breaking, and destroying an engine would be preferred (imho) over getting that ticket when you get pulled over.
and please do not use the caps lock.... ever...

My 93 SE with 125,000 was $1100. It has some VTC tick and needed new bumper cover, sunroof glass (still lookin for that one), and some other stupid crap. According to blue book I got a great deal($2700 KBB), but with all the little problems (door locks, power windows, leaky sunroof, mysterious intermittant leak in the waterpump area) It was only an ok deal.

I wouldn't pay that much for a GXE. Tell him milage is too high and 25mpg isnt' that great anymore (It'll cost you $65+ to fuel up nowadays).
