Which color should I paint my max?

Okay, I'm trying to decide what color I should paint my Maxima.. it's not the next mod I'm doing, but I gotta decide which color to paint it, as it determines what colors I go with for my interior.. getting the interior redone 2 tone all over w/ leather seats, then soon after I'm getting it repainted. I'm thinking either V-tec blue or black. Which of these do you guys like or if you have another third choice let me know. Here's what my ride looks like right now (oh yeah I'm getting it dropped before either of the above mods..) http:maxima.cardomain.com/ids/your_mom90gxe

i'm proud to be the 1st voter. black! i just dropped my car off today to get it painted black!!! i miss her already though, i can't go 3 days without my maxima! anyway, it's up to you, but i believe that i've seen this in posts about altezzas for us before...does your car say honda? no. it says nissan. i went with black, but i have seen some nice max's other than that on here, there was a blue one that made me almost tell them to paint it blue today, i forget which blue, but not v-tec. anyway, that's my input. but it's your car, do what you want.

I dunno, the booger green sounds like an intriuging choice!
Yeah that's what I was thinking with black, but then to counterbalance that, I would probably be the only vtech blue maxima in the world if I chose vtech, and the color is nice. Really it's a stalemate for me, so I'm gonna let the masses tip the balance.

yeah I hear you on the Vtec blue, I likes it too when it first came out, but now its kinda played out to me! but hey if you think it'll look good go for it, we all have different tastes so don't let us mess up your choice! but yeah booger green tops all!

I always like to see a car with a color that is not offered as stock. Nothing too loud and noticable, like Yellow. I don't have any ideas right now. Maybe silver.

Man, does this bring back bittersweet memories or what? A few months ago I was agonizing to other forumers who actually OWNED SE 5spds and had my heart set on a BLACK one.... Well eventually I eased up because well... the 5 speeds were just too rare here and life was too short. So I settled for my silver coloured car instead.

Still, everytime a black SE goes by I always wonder how many pedals it's got...

Super black or mid-night blue.
2 of the best maximas I've seen are mid-night blue.

That's a really good point. I was fantasizing before of getting a Max in any colour and then having it painted black. Only problem is, there's also the:
door jams/sills
under hood
firewall
trunk sills

...and then expect to pay even more for better quality work and paint (unless the world's switched to urethane enamels and didn't tell me). Anyway, to make a long story short, the cost of doing everything at some place that is NOT Maaco came out to about 3/4 the cost of the car (several thousand $$$$) - not worth it I figured.

Unless you're okay with some mismatching paint, in which case more power to you!

i think black would look good. but the blue would be original on a max.

Errr, that doesn't sound too bad to me.. maybe get the hood sills repainted as I'm gonna get some underhood stuff done (already have CAI), but I really don't anticipate looking into the depths of my door very often..

Re: Re: get something thats kinda close or

i am getting my car painted black right now actually, and the place i am getting it done at charge $50 extra per door jam, threw in the trunk and said there was only so much they could do under the hood cause it's not a good idea to blow stuff in there. so that's $200 more for the doors and trunk and depending on how much they did around the hood i can do the rest fairly simple. that's of course near me, in s.fl., so if you can find something like that and can afford the extra couple hundred and elbow grease, go for it. i love working on my max anyway!

I went to the best body shop on the Connecticut shore and got a qoute and for a better than factory quilty paint job would be about $5500. Thats everywhere and everything Re-painted.

Yeah I'm gonna be getting a real good paint job for a real good price, because I'm doing the sanding and primer myself, and then my cousin's friend is a auto painter, so if I do my own sanding and primering, the paintjob will cost me 4-600 depending on how big my car is and what color I choose.

I'm not sure of the paint color, but how about the dark gray that comes on the Lexus IS300? Unlike black it won't show everything, no other car than the Lexus has that color stock, and it would still set off your rims. Just my thoughts.

Mine is being repainted

Staying with the stock Black Emerald Pearl (dark green) color, but ALL my body damage is being repaired. I like the color so much I decided to stick with it. Ruby Pearl is also really neat if you ask me. plus I have a big time hook up so the paint job is cheap.

Yeah, behind SuperBlack, Black Emerald is my second favorite Maxima color.
