Clean IAC, Throttle Body, EGR, Etc. All Intake Parts with Throttle Body Cleaner.
Clean MAF with Electrical Contact/MAF Cleaner.

See if it helps. Remember to get new gaskets for IAC/EGR.

Get to it then! Hah...

Vacuum leak is also a good one, check all around the engine for cracked/broken/disconnected hoses

Mine did that awhile ago. It was my MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow). Bought one on e-bay for $25 and works perfect now. You could check your computer under your dash for the specific problem.

urban myth'd
http://www.knfilters.com/MAF/massair.htm

When I started having problems with my car with the cone I blamed the oil. I think it boils down to the fact that some mechanic didn't like a cone and made up some snake oil myth or maybe it was an accident just like when everyone told me my car wouldn't start because my starter was bad when all along it was a neutral safety switch. My MAF screen got dirty from being stock for 120K miles. I haven't noticed anything from wiping the screen since I bought my cone.

hmmm... I can actually feel my cai tube on the inside when I take off the filter and feel a very thin slimy substance. I guessed oil.

Can you turn on the A/C to test if its the IACV?

My car was comming to a stall to when i'd push the clutch at a light. New fuel filter and properly gaped NGK plugs not Autolite XP.

EDIT: After replacing the plugs and fuelfilter i got my smooth idle back

speaking of a/c and iacv stuff, is the idle supposed to bump up a little when you push the clutch when stopped, put it in gear, and slightly lift (enough to get off the clutch-start switch, but not enough to actually start engaging the clutch? or maybe it's just because i am still using my old a/t ECU, and it's compensating for my nonexistant torque converter.

lol.. sorry, shouldnt laugh at that.. just how you said it was funny.

Clean the IACV like people have been saying.. that and Id say check your fuel injectors! + Yea change the fuel filter yet? It's a $10 part, 10 minute job. You have high miles, could be many things.. PCV valve, simple cheap, change it. Just, tune it up, start cheap to narrow things down.. Change the plugs, new distrubutor + wires..
set timing..

Could also be your Maf sensor wiring harness. They tend to break wire strands and cause the idle to be erractic( right at the valve cover). Are you sure it's not an injector or spark plug? Also what are u driven an auto or manual? If it's a auto then your idle maybe set too low!
