K&N Drop in filter question

K&N Drop in filter question
I just got a K&N Drop in air filter, the one that "can run for 1 million miles." What type of gain did I get when I put it in? The car feels a lot more responsive and quickre, but it could just be that I am just thinking that since I just put it in.

not very much, maybe 1HP or so
that's the thing about intakes, the noise is usually more noticable than the gains
as for CAI, you will definitely notice something
Pop charger - a little difference
panel drop in - tiny bit

Probably not much unless you have a good exhaust combo to work with the filter. I would say less than 5hp if you have no other mods but you will find it is more responsive as you said.
I had to remove my K&N panel filter due to erratic idle problems, but the car did feel better when it was installed.

Pickwick…
I've only had the drop-in K&N in this car (I bought it used, and it was already in there!) I'm planning on getting the CAI, and then the y-pipe (most likely Warpspeed for both).
I seemed to notice that when I removed the piping from the airbox (the one that leads to the area behind the drivers' side headlamp) that my pick-up and responsiveness was a little better (not much). If you're planning on getting a CAI or a popcharger, you'll probably want to (need to) remove this anyway, so why not do so in the meantime and see what you think?

Just cut off the part that is a "poor mans" cai?

Poor-man's CAI…
Yeah, if you want to call it that (and if you do, it'll be very loosely called - CAI )
BTW - You'll have to unscrew it instead of cutting it off, unless you don't mind the engine bay remnants. Good luck
