How brakes fails?

How brakes fails?

does anyone know how brakes fails with automatic transmission while u r driving? cuz one of buddies car crashed into pool yesterday cuz his brakes were failed...ntn serious happened just his bumper and hood was totally totaled but still wat causes the brakes to fails most?

edit: o ya it was 95 altima...

I would guess master cylinder failure. No hydraulic pressure = no brakes.

busted brake line.... step on the pedal, all of the fluid shoots out the hole, no more brakes.

Also a failed ABS Actuator...it happened to me and all the fluid leaked out from there.

how so? they use the drums(where applicable)...

hehe, 1st gear deceleration on a m/t is stronger than the drum brakes alone. true story.

if you can get it into 1st to engine brake... I need to fix that...
but 2nd holds it's own, pretty well.

if you know how to double-clutch revmatch your downshifts you can get into 1st at like 30mph

ie, from a roll, put it in neutral while revving (damn near to 5000 in 1st for 30mph), let the clutch out in neutral for a split second then quickly re-press the clutch and complete the downshift

i would love to post pics here if city tow truck wouldn't have taken his car cuz he damaged city's light pool and on the other hand ICBC (our insurance company) totalled his car.....his total estimat was $1900 for the pool...but he didnt have to pay anything cuz its not his fault that brakes were faild....ICBC( Insurance Corporation Of British Columbia) paid him 4500 for the car and plus paid for city light pool too....but my main conecren is that wat if he was on high speed?....i jus wanted to know so i will maintane my braking system and wont be careless about it....

edit: and ya few opinions about how to stop the car if ur brakes are failed....A/T + M/T

i just realized i am one of not-many people with drum brakes and a manual tranny......... well my car is on jackstands right now b/c i can't ever get off work in time to go get the parts i need to finish my car... so it's been off for 2 weeks now.... but i'm making progress!
