Write Up For Digital Climate Control Self Diagnose.
Write Up For Digital Climate Control Self Diagnose.
I thought lets write this self diagnose, so many newbie members can perform this easily and wont have any troubles, and they can find out easily where the problem is exactly.In this diagnose you can find out if ur sensors ( only related to digital climate control u will find out later in this write up ), Blower motor, door motors etc etc.i m posting this with Pictures so it would be easy to diagnose. Also, its just for Digital Climate Controls in 3rd gen Maxima and i apologize to people who have manual, however, i will try to get hands on manual self diagnose too. soon.
i apologize for my drawing and editing pictures as i m really bad at it but i think u can tell what i m trying to tell u in PICTURE

First of all, you have to make sure that your Fresh Vent Lever is in ''OFF'' position.
Now you will have to start your car for 5 seconds,turn off ur digital climate control,and then turn ur car off, turn ur ignition switch on ( DO NOT start the engine ).
now u have to press the ''OFF'' button of DCC ( digital climate control ) for at least 5 seconds. you must press the off button of dcc within 10 seconds after u turn off ur car.this is wats gonna come up after 5 seonds. all leds gonna turn on.

now press the hot button ( red button ) once and wait there will be number displaying ''2'' but keep waiting cuz it takes approximately 4 seconds to check all sensors. If all sensors are in good order it will show 20 otherwise it will give u a code for example for sunload sensor its 25 and it will keep showing the codes turn wise if there is more than one bad sensor.....it gives me 25 which is sun load sensor but remember if ur car is not under direct sun light (as my car is not parked outside) it will give u the code for sun load sensor so if it gives u the code 25 which is sunload sensor it doesn't mean ur sensor is bad u can go in sun light or direct light more than 60W and check it again, if it still gives u the code then it needs to be replaced. And heres the confusing thing if u see the code like this -25 it means sensor is short circuit.....codes as follows
21 = Ambient Sensor
22 = In - Vehicle Sensor
24 = Intake Sensor
25 = Sunload Sensor
26 = PBR
NEXT MODE.CHECKS MODS DOOR POSITION....u can go into next mode by pressing Hot button..it will show u 3 but wait cuz it takes approximately 16 seconds to check all door if doors are in good condition then it will give u the code 30 but still wait if 30 code is blinking if under 10 seconds it changes then u know the problem but if keep blinking 30 then u r good.Again if there is more than one problem then it will give u the codes turn wise...codes as follows
31 = VENT
32 = B/L
33 = B/L
34 = Foot/ DEF1
35 = Foot/ DEF2
36 = DEF
NEXT MODE.CHECKS OPERATION FOR EACH ACTUATOR.....again u can go to next step by pressing hot button....in this mode display shows 41 wen u enters and ur fans starts working...basically in this mode u check if ur all air outlets if they r working properly or no and u can test volts of blower and other things u will see in codes....u test these by pressing DEF button and each time switch (DEF) is pressed, display advances one number at a time, up to 46, then returns to 41...here wat these codes means..
CHECKS MUST BE MADE VISUALLY ,BY LISTENING TO ANY NOISE, OR TOUCHING AIR OUTLETS WITH UR HAND, ETC, FOR IMPROPER OPERATION.
NEXT MODE, CHECKS TEMPERATER DETECTED BY SENSORS ( my fav one
)
u can go into this mode by pressing hot button....as u enters it will show u 5...and then wen u press DEF button first it will show u temp detetced by Ambient sensor again press it will show u temp detected by in-vehicle sensor again press DEF it will show temp detected by intake sensor again press DEF it will return back to 5 fun eh? lol
Under mode 5 there is another temperature setting called AUXILIARY MECHANISIM:TEMPERATURE SETTING TRIMMER...This trimmer compenstates for differences between tmperature setting (displayed digitally) and temperature felt by driver in a range of +3C* (+6F*)....if u wanna set this then wen u come bak to 5 after checking all sensors deteced temperature u press fan button once anf it will take u to AUXILIARY MODE where u can set the temperature by pressing hot and cold buttons ( red and blue buttons) and temperature will change each time u pressed the button by 0.5C* (1F*).
You can turn back to normal condition simply turning the ignition switch to OFF
i hope u enjoy this, not too boring i know lol.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
have fun

you'd need to pull it out and re solder the bad spots. not a particularly hard job, but time consuming, nonetheless.
u gotta pull it out and look for bad connections...or jus go to JY and swap with the other one....
