ECCS Relay question?
ECCS Relay question?
Recently I had my ECCS relay blow along with the brown 25A fusible link because my injector harness was grounding out near my EGR valve. I rerouted the cable and replaced the fuses but now my ECM, fuel, TCU are not getting power in the car. I have power to the dash, radio ect. The only way I got power was to either run a jumper to substitue to ECCS relay or with an open ECCS relay manually push the relay then I hear everything cut on....what could be wrong? Are there other relays that might have blown as well? The wires connected to the ECCS are two blue/white that have power at all time, a white/black and orange green going to the ECU. The continiutty check to the ECU was good.
I don't hear the relay click at all, I used one I knew was good and nothing. If I used a jumper I get power then but the ECU, TCU and fuel pump are on the whole time. The fusible link 25A is good.
That sounds about right, what's not happening is the circuit is not being grounded to complete the circuit, if I do it using a screw driver the relay clicks and everything comes on. I have two white/blue wires (always hot) Green/orange back to the ECU and a white/black wire. So which one is the trigger and wire is it going? I thought it would be the green/org I checked it and I have continuity all way to the ECU. The white/black wire runs to a junction box inside the car according to the diagram, this may be it....
OK like I said before,I have two white/blue wires (always hot) A Green/orange back to the ECU and a white/black wire. So which one is the trigger and where is it going
According the Pohjolas's page the flow is like this >Batt --> B1 --> B2 --> Ignition Switch turned to ACC -->R7 --> Engine Cont=ECCS=ECU green relay at box. The only way I can make this relay click is to either run a jumper from the white/black to the white/blue or ground the green/orange wire going to the ECU/.... Someone hellppp!!!!! Other this doing this I have no power to the ECU,TCU or fuel pump.

do you have the FSM for your year?
if you do then it will tell you what feeds all those particular wires. you will probably have to go backwards through the wiring diagram and then physically track it back in the car. it's not fun, but it will yield a definite answer

Hey all, I ended up finding a 89 Maxima that was in much better shape body wise etc. The guy told me that it runs hot and he diagnosed it as a blown head gasket (white smoke from the exhaust but runs very good!!!), I got the care for $525 (it's the one in my avatar)..... if you see the car you be like damn that's a good deal. My other max is now the parts car.
