steering wheel click

I pushed down on the left turn signal hard this morning in a rush going to work. And now every time i turn the steering wheel to left i hear a little clicking sound every few inches i turn the wheel..(the sound is something inside the lil turn signal switcher mechanism) besides that everything works fine and it's fine when i turn the wheel to the Right... I think i may have just messed up the mechanism a little bit....

Help please.

Quick fix possibly ?. i took a look at it nothing looks broken

yea it sounds like you snapped something in the return cam thingy.. you might need to replace the signal/headlight switch but they're abundant at JYs

So the turn signal still automatically cancels for left and right turns but only makes the clicking sound on the left turns? If everything still works fine then I'd say don't bother. If memory serves me there's a ring inside your steering wheel with notches that determine how far you have to turn the wheel before the signal auto cancels...but it's been a very long time since I replaced my steering wheel so I could be wrong. It's easy to replace, providing you don't have an airbag and it's the ring dealy that's the problem not the stalk itself.

You probably popped the little return spring off the directional arm when you hit it hard. You can use the signals without the spring because the directional cam in the steering column unlocks the arm when you make a left or right turn.
