The tension in my clutch is gone! what happened?
I went and started my car tonight, it was really cold- mid 30's and i pushed in the clutch and when i started to let up on the clutch, it has no tension in it, it pops up, but it feels terrible and wont go into gear. do you think i just need to get some clutch fluid? it doesnt spring at all. Thanks for the help.
Sounds like your clutch hydrolic system has a failure somewhere. Chances are there will be fluid leaking so look around the tranny for leaks, (near the clutch slave cylinder), check the clutch master cylinder (near the firewall rigth next to the brake master cylinder). If you don't see any leaking it could be leaking back into the car, so crawl under the dash and look at the clutch pedal assembly to see if you see any leaking there. Basically you 3 items that could be causing this:
1. Clutch Master Cylinder (on firewall)
2. Clutch hydrolic line (goes from firewall down to the slave cylinder on the tranny)
3) Clutch slave cylinder (on tranny)
One of these items basically HAS to be bad. You just need to figure out which one :-)
Good luck,

another thing you can try
Sometimes, the slave cylinder, which is the hydraulically actuated cylinder mounted at the transmission will fail but you won't see any signs of hydraulic fluid leaking.
I'm not familiar with Nissan's as much as some other cars, but when the slave cylinder on my Miata failed, there was no sign of leakage.
Anyway, check the whole system, but chances are it's the slave cylinder as that's the one that takes the most abuse and is most exposed to the elements.
Good luck,
Dave
