Clutch choices

Sup guys...

a few months ago,i helped a friend of mine so an SR20DET swap in his S13. The clutch finally got killed recently and found out that an 89 Maxima clutch was the USDM replacement equivalent.

Skeptical, he chose to order a clutch listed for his car. Being that the 3rd. gen clutches supposedly fit those cars... do u think their clutches fit our cars ??.. any differences between the 2 ??... I`m in the middle of doing a 5 speed swap and was planning on installing a new clutch. S13`s seem to have more choices..What kind of clutches are you guys using ??? feedback please

Yes the SR20 can use the same clutch as most maximas and vise versa. Ive used a Spec stage 3 for more than 30k and I love it; stock pedal pressure and unbeatable grip.

I use an exedy OEM-spec clutch. The pedal feels alot stiffer than stock. That is probably amplified by the SS clutch line and deleted junction though... half as much fluid to compress before the clutch disengages. I can't say I've had any problems with the clutch. Not the sportiest clutch in the world but it was less than $200 for the full kit and it gets the job done.
