OMG Power Steering Going Again

Yup only been 2 years when i had my power steering pump replaced. They filled it up with regular power steering fluid Not Dex II-. Then came this week
all the fluid leaked out and made a mess in my garage.
I am a complete noob in changing belts and lower mechanical Parts, even though i got to do my knock sensor over the summer.
Can some one give me an idea what tools and steps to change it
Is there any specific torque for tightening the belts?
Is it difficult to remove the high pressure hose?
OK so what i need is a new Pump, and do i need a p/s Gasket kit?
Also I would like to know how to bleed the p/s system?

THANK YOU ALL .ORG IS THE BEST
and sorry if this is a repost of anything and asking so much. i couldnt find any specific answers

It may not be the pump itself leaking, check the high pressure hose for a break/leak in the hose.

you will need to clean up the engine bay area of the leak with engine degreaser and a water hose. then refill the system with DEXTRON III!!...start the car...turn the wheel from lock to lock a few times...then pop your head under the hood/under the car with a good flashlight...start looking for the source of the leak.

It's making that noise because the sytem has been depleted of fluid from a leak somewhere..a brand new pump installed and ran without any fluid will make the exact same noise...CHECK FOR LEAKS ELSEWHERE FIRST!

The p/s sytem is probably full of air pockets now from the leak..

meh nevermind...now that i think about it, you probably have a bad pump also due to using the wrong fluid.

but still..look for the source of the leak before just blindly replacing the pump...

Create a leak via low pressure hose removal..

Disconnect the low pressure hose at the fluid tank, run engine, the fluid will drain out of this hose as the engine runs, as it is draining out, continue to pour dextronIII fluid into the tank, it will eventually all turn red coming out of the return hose.

you might accidentally find your leak if you look around in the engine bay while you are draining the system of the wrong fluid.

Here is a useful thread on high pressure hose removal, and the the p/s system bleeding procedure.

is that pic from the 3rd gen FSM?
I don't recall seeing any with a cooler. it looks alot like my 4th gen setup, right down to the drops coming out of the cooler's hose connections!

i need to cut the zipties on my hood to check my own PS fluid level. after i replaced the tierods and had the car on jackstands for a month doing other crap and not having money for parts... i turned the wheel and the fluid started spurting out the CLOSED PS resevoir.... i was worried it was a problem but after i started the motor i guess it sucked it back in. i wonder if I lost much fluid tho.

I haven't owned a 3rd gen in roughly 2 years. my paperback FSM is sitting in my dresser. I also never had occasion to worry about anything in front of my radiator. the only reason I even noticed the dang thing on my I30 is because the sucker is leaking.
