Broken Crankshaft

Broken Crankshaft

What's up guys I have a question for all
who reads this. Have anyone ever heard of a broken
crankshaft on the 3rd gen maximas? if so please
tell me what would cause such a disaster?

Baffled in N.C.

maybe the crank pully is not in harmony and spun it into whack, i would think

yep.. I'v eheard of it happenings.. causes could be several things, from a spun bearing causing the crank to get really hot and break at that point, or a poorly running engine.. get 2 cylinders to misfire and try to spin the "wrong" direction at the same time, and it's likely enough force to break the crank. a guy in the UK had a crank break on his max a few months ago. I forget what they determined actually happened though. but yes, it does happen.
