Aussie maxima..se or gxe?
...I must now go and get better pics (the lurking wire is disgusting). If the car is imported, then it usually needs local inspection. Lamps from somewhwre else will NOT be accepted and inspection will NOT pass. This is very $erious revenue -issue. I'll soon give u the whole lamp and nothin but the EUstamplamp...
Never imagined my pics would be zoomed in like that

tho, i have heard that in Australia, sometimes the reverse lights are amber rather than white.... is that true? what color are they on the australian maxima
and i wonder what The Max might have to contribute
u should get some new rims at least 16'...ur car gonna look sick as it has really clean paint....
Here side turn signal, mirror, front lamp ... for the rear&fog lamps see http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/11

The codes in front lamp:

The LAM-PSYcommissaries seem to have fallen in love with E4 (!?) - I know its serious business to tinker and argue in eleven languages if the E4 should be inside rectangular or round 'box'. Hundreds of engineers must have spent months in Caribbean around this issue...
maximum u can go on these cars is 21' lol but i wouldnt put that big...18' looks really gud on 3rd gens....i dont care if u put chrome or mags or alloys but for the size 225/40/18 with 35 offset would be ideal for u....

From: Long Beach, CA is where i live. Queens NYC is always home.
this is the 1st time that I have seen a non north american varient of the 3rd. gen. Crazy seeing a RHD. different grille and the bumper lighting. I am assuming that Australian cars have a mixture of both GXE and SE as a norm ... notice his car doesn`t have white face guages, but has VE lights and SE trims w/ a VG30e engine ... whatever the case ... It`s cool. Kinda like seeing a JDM S13 and an S13 240sx...lol
haha, it tells me that i'm jealous of your stock headlights! in the US, if we want even DECENT output we have to retrofit some other car's headlights in our cars (commonly the BMW E36... look at GRNMAXDMON's thread about E36/E60 headlights). Oh, if only international shipping weren't so much.... we could buy up all the headlights off wrecked aussie and euro maximas!
HAHAHA jealous of my stock headlights....jealous about something on my car...i never thought i'd hear that!!!Im in Aust remember...everything is Commodores here! My car is just vertually un-recognisable.
Hmm as for the wheels.... i may have to hit up the other half for some cash!!! LOL
And i think im gunna sp3nd my time hunting down other Maxima's around here and let ya's know whats different and whats not...like i said...havent seen any like mine here...even the guy at they car shop said mine has a different grill.

yep. the pattern is superior to the USDM one. Not perfect, but alot better. My headlights make a vague line with an angled lump in the middle (aka hotspot... i got flashed 20x coming back from maxus with 150lb in my trunk, cuz the USDM lights glare alot). even BMW skimped on the USDM headlights for alot of cars... USDM rarely gets the best stuff out there. Only shortfall Aus has for the maxima is that we got the manual option and you guys didn't. A/C would most likely be standard in Aus wouldn't it?

A/C as in air conditioning? ?
idk if there are any manuals or not.
according to wikipedia, they are all autos for 3rd gens (but then again, it is only wikipedia)
sorry, i know what A/C is...i just thought it was a weird question and thinking maybe u meant something else...pretty much all cars have Air con here.
we're behind the times....but not that far behind HAHAHA :P

heh, i didn't mean it that way. in russia and northern europe and stuff, not all cars come with a/c, cuz really, you hardly need it when it's snowy 6 months out of the year.
The VE was never used in Australian Maximas, I thought that was common knowledge. Side marker is stock, color is stock..
Now this is....interesting:

Im Downunder remember...we need it
especially when ur like me and have 2 broken window regulators...
lets carry on with this thread, so all of us noobs that dont know will be able to diffretiate between usdm and other dm's variances.
Okay guys...i joined an Aussie Maxima forum...THEY ARE SLOW....TOOK days for just this...ill keep you posted on more interesting diffences with our Maxima's.
First, welcome!
Nice looking J30, looks very clean and tidy.
Your car looks like a 93-94 Maxima executive, they only came in 2 trims here in Aus and they have different features and model names than USA or NZ. In Aus, we have the Executive (also called 'M' in 90-92), and the Ti. The Ti is the top of the range but had the option of Leather seats and a sunroof.
None of the Aus models have fog lights from the factory. The side indicators are also fairly unique to Aus (and perhaps NZ), to comply with Australian design rules.
Also, all Aus J30 maximas have those wheels, although the 90-92 had a matt finish instead of a gloss finish.

I was in NZ/AUS back in 06 and I took this picture in Rotorua, NZ.

I have absolutely no idea what year this is, but I thought it looked pretty sweet. This grill is different from the one posted earlier.

sortof like this, just not as crisp or bright cuz that pic is of projectors
My headlights are crap!
I have used different sort of bulbs in em...not that i've tried that hard to improve it or anything, but mine are crap. Maybe need to be shifted bit...i occassionally drive with highbeams on all the time

there are 2 adjusters on there. one is a star-shaped **** at the corner of the engine bay on both sides, the other adjuster is a long screw sticking out from under the headlight assembly inside the engine bay)
and i also have the 9007 bulb upgrade thingy.
burhan.. if you even TRY to convince her to put HIDs in halogen housings, i will fly to Canada and hit you with your own maxima. and tie you up in string cheese. at least that way you won't starve.
*ahem*
Cassandra! basically, putting HIDs in normal Halogen housings is unarguably MORE of a sin than murder.
this is why
top: halogen housings w/ HIDs. total mess. glare everywhere
bottom: hid-spec projectors with HIDs. clean, crisp cutoff. no glare.

Maybe my monitor is not displaying the color right, looks to me like it's Sapphire blue..
I forgot who mentioned it, but someone had to tell me a couple years back, I figured the VE was sold over there as well.

Do the orange side blinks have E-markings or not?
How about the mirror number codes?
How about the headlight codes?
oh yeh, sorry...busy...3 kids and all!haha
ill do it in about 6 hours....have no idea whatr time that'll be there for you.
This thread reminded me I started a thread a while back with some pics of my aus spec Maxima.

In Australia there were two main options; the "M" (base model - sometimes referred to as 'executive', but this isn't the official term from Nissan's perspective, 'M' is) and the "Ti" (fully optioned model - there isn't too many of the Ti, they were shifting at a price tag of $47,990 AUD which was a hell of a lot of money back in 1994).
With the "M" there were a few of the Ti options you could ask for at an obvious extra expense, but the Ti came with the works (leather, sunroof, electric seats, second din cd player, outside keypads, climate control, rear spoiler, drivers airbag etc.) - Both models came with the sawblade rims, colour coded mirrors, side indicators and the same style rear end with the Nissan badging etc.
There were never any other style of rim on the 3rd gen Max in australia, though the 90 to 92 models had a more matt finish rim where as the 93/94 models were glossy/polished. All models from 90 to 94 carried the VG30E.
