gearing on m/t and a/t is considerably different. actually all 4 transmissions have different gearing.... i have had 3 of the 4... 45mph was 1600 in OD lockup for the a/t, 1800 on the VG5 and about 1900 on the VE5.

and remember, as i stated, the tire size won't impact what your MPH->RPM correlation looks like. it just affects how accurate your speedo is.

besides, greeny was just playing a prank on me.

so in that pic that was my 4th gear engaged of auto tranny ( DUH )....so my question is that 4th gear goes till to the end from whatever speed it changes from? ( i never noticed it but i know 4th gear engages around 80km correct me if i m wrong )

edit: i calculated my speedo and it is bit faster like if it shows 60km on my speedo then the actual speed is 59.5km...gud for me tho...

...... huh? what do you mean "till to the end"? once you are in 4th gear in lockup... you have no higher gears. if you are going 120mph, you are still in 4th. is that what you're asking??

yes, thanks. But wat i m asking is that isnt that too early for 4th gear to engage around 55 mph?....i would like to have 4th gear engaging around or between 75 and 80 mph.....

if it were bad for 4th to engage when it does, nissan would not have designed the TCU to allow it to shift then. if you are in city traffic, you can turn OD off so it won't shift between 3rd and 4th so much, but if you are gonna be mostly over 50mph, leave OD on. you are just wasting gas by having OD off when cruising over 50mph.

it engages too late. most of my cars (non-nissan) engage at 45. lower is better for fuel economy. the higher engagement speed means I waste more gas, though OD won't blow as quickly (like anything OD from ford).

When it shifts into o/d is a factor of vehicle speed, throttle position/engine load, and engine temp.

(it won't engage lockup until the engine is warmed up.)

Once the engine is warm, it engages o/d and locks up the torque converter based on the vehicle speed and load on the engine. If you're cruising or very gently accelerating at 45mph, yes it will kick into o/d and lock up the TC. But as soon as you put your foot into it, it will unlock and downshift for better acceleration.

It's working exactly as designed.

It's lowered, but only by about 1" on H&R springs. Trust me, you should have seen it before. I also ran 225/55-16 tires on my R32 GTR wheels and it 'looks' lower because of the smaller fender gap. I wouldn't run them again if I had the choice. Good for highway cruising, not so good in the turns.

that tire size is actually damn closer to stock than mine tho. 25.7" where stock is 25.5 so they are smaller than mine...

It'll be VERY close. I'm going to bet you'll have to slot the upper strut mount holes to camber the top in.
you're also going to have to run a stretched tire to make it work (yuck).

i don't mind the stretched tire look...to an extent. would i have clearance issues between the rear strut hitting the rim or tire? i had that problem with my current wheels and i just added a 10mm spacer.
