What is this gasket for?

I went through the FSM and the auto part sites don't give a description, but this was in the intake gasket kit I bought when I had to replace an injector on the wife's car ('93 GXE). The car is running perfect after replacing the injector, and I didn't come across anything like it when I disassembled the intake, so I don't think I missed a step.

Can anyone tell me what it's for so I will know if I need to keep it close by for future needs?

Edit: I remember now that I did not go below replacing the lower intake gasket (as in, didn't remove the runner ports below the upper manifold assembly). Had I continued, would these have been the replacement gaskets for the intake ports on the heads?

you replaced the plenum gaskets, but not the intake manifold base gaskets.
