timing cover

looking at the front side of my VE motor, pulley side, on the left side it looks like i got oil slowly leaking out of one of the bolts.

im replacing the water pump today, and was thinking about tackling the timing cover toi fix that leak. Now for the timing cover do you need to use the gasket and rtv or can you use just rtv to seal it, like the water pump?

thanks

Just RTV is fine. The only time a gasket is needed, is in a head gasket, O'ring situation, or exhaust gasket (even then you can sometimes use copper silicone on it)

thanks. they sure didn't give us much room to pull off , if facing the pulleys, the top left timing cover. gonna have to make that a project when it gets warmer out so the hands are more nimble
