VE Starter Problem

so my starter died on me today and i was thinking that VEs can never break down lol...well they can but i have to admit that it was one strong starter...i have this car since 2 years now and previous owner had it for 3 years so total 5 year, he didnt change starter in his maxima life....so i think its fair for the starter to die after 5 years having really harsh cold weather in Canada...oh well lets come to the point....

i been noticing since few days that whenever i crank my max it will hesitate then it will start....i thought probably battery isnt holding charge or something i didnt pay attention but today i came home from uni and parked the car and an hour after went to start it up again and ntn will happen..it wont even crank jus turn the ignition on and that's it...i checked my battery it has exactly 12.6 volts, did the load test and it passed it and then i checked starter...played with few wires , checked the volts at starter solenoid and the motor and it had exactly same volts as battery then i bypassed the ignition switch with screw driver ( not gud idea ) and starter wouldn't turn over...so i think its dead....wat do u guys think? and wat is the gud company that makes gud starter for maximas or just buy OEM from the auto part store?....Thanks for tolerating me lol

edit: and i checked for ECU DTCs and there's none and if i turn on the ignition and check the voltage at ignition signal wire connected to the starter under dere has 12V it means all the relays r working since voltages r dere?

Whack the starter a few times and see if it cranks over. if it does then replace it with a good quality replacement unit.
Just remember the VE A/T uses a different starter than any other 3rd gen.

pretty much exact same problem I had a few months ago. for a couple weeks the starting was having some problems. then one day I drove to work fine, and went to go home and no start. Luckily I installed remote start on my car so I was able to lift the hood and wack the starter while it was trying to start. Hitting it helped it try to kick over, but it didnt start, so I ended up getting a ride and got my tools and a starter and did it their in the parking lot. My car is a VE auto btw. Hardest part was breaking the bolts free. other than that replacing it is pretty easy.

Have a friend try to start it wall you wack it with a hammer. if it acts different and sounds like its tryin to kick in, replace it. I can't remember if I got a reman or new starter or who made it tho, sorry.

Good luck

it was starter.....i did tap on it and it still didnt turn over the engine....i took the starter out and did the test on and it wouldn't run....i didnt bother rebuilding it cuz the starter is pretty old i jus got new one, put it in and now my VE cranks better than 09 max
