My car has a problem of, when in gear(its an auto), it vibrates badly. When out of gear it still vibrates at idle but not as bad. I pulled up a thing off of a program at my school auto tech class and it said that a 'lazy' o2 sensor may cause this. Anyone have any experience with this problem?

Hmmmm, sounds more like a busted mount or even the harmonic balancer. Those do go bad sometimes.

 

i doubt that it is an O2 sensor problem. When that goes bad the car will usually backfire a low rpm's and seem to have poor throttle response. If yours hasnt been channged in a while then I'd change it anyway. You never know, it could help take care of the problem.

Well, i did have a bad motor mount on the front so i got a new one of those, and inspected the rest of em when i was doing that and they looked fine. The harmonic balancer....hmm...that i may check into.

 

if it's alot worse in gear, and it is an auto (bummer) it could be your torque converter. i'm more familiar with GM trannys but that sounds like a torque converter to me. but hey, i'd have to hear it.
