Im looking to get a amp for my speakers because the stock amp isnt giving much power to the front speakers, dose any one have an idea of what kind i should get? i have aftermarket Infinity - 6" x 8" Custom-Fit 2-Way Car Speakers in the front 180 watts peak power (60 watts RMS) and 6x9 pioneers in the back( not sure what kind) but the back speakers sound great. i also have an aftermarket alpine head unit, and its not the bose system

If you haven't bypassed your bose amps, do it.
your HU already has a amp inside to run your speakers.
if you do not bypass the bose amps, in the long run it will possibly damage either your HU or speakers from what I've been reading from other users. since those amps were made to run speakers @ 1ohms and most aftermarket speakers are 4ohms. to use those amps properly you need a bose HU and bose speakers, otherwise bypass them.

yes. right now the amplified rear output from you head unit is being amplified by the amplifier on the rear deck which the factory installed on car with the active speaker system. It only amplified the rear speakers not the fronts.

is my HU toast or what?
I just got my hands on a used 94 Maxima with the Bose stereo system. I don't know if the HU is broken. The previous owner blames the amp.
When I press power, the antenna goes up but nothing is displayed on the unit.
Seems like people always have issues with this HU.
Thanks

So I tired to bypass my factory amp for the back deck speakers. And I did everything as it was said to do. But when I was done, and turned the car on nothing happened. The radio did not come on, or the clock. After alot of rewiring I got it all to come back on, I had to wire all the wires to their normal selfs, except the yellow wire and the yellow wire w/ green stripe. I had to wire them together. But The radio and clock reset themself's to the default settings each time the car is turnned on and off, and the keypad no longer works with the car off. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

have you tried to check the fuses? i am not sure if the keypad and the constant power to the clock/radio (for maintaining proper time) are on the same circuit, but that should be the first thing you check.

Accessory line grounded out somewhere so as not to keep in continuous circuit with the battery? People this is not hard... You run and amp kit for the new amp... that doesn't interfere with any existing wiring... You're head unit should be able to push enough power to all your component speakers to just run off it (that is if you're buying quality stuff) and then you simply run the HU to the amp for a Sub line (or your components if you have to have that setup) and boom you're done! The only time you splice into factory wiring is for the HU wiring harness that's it... Never reuse factory amps! It's always a bad idea if you're "upgrading" your sound system.
