The backlight on the AC controls - I have the manual slider style on my 93 GXE, come on and off, sometimes staying off for weeks. I noticed howwver that last night they worked as I pulled into the gym parking lot. When I got ready to leave, I flicked the light switch twice, forst for running lamps, then for headbeams, and the AC gauge backlights blinked for a second and went dark again. I can almost predict they will magically come back to life in no more than 2 weeks.
Now I know this is trivial, but my friends have 330Ci's and A4's with more lights that a small airplane and having a dark dashboard is not a pretty sight compared to that.

Any Ideas?
