Age ................ real difficult to match in a paint shop.

Metallic paint is a bastard to match to start with on its own ................ then add quality of code mix, spray pressure variations, different bases, different primers, different thinners, paint sprayed on rather than dipped, angle of spray reaching the surface (flake orientation)

I think I have a better chance of falling pregnant as a man frankly than any given aged metallic paint getting matched.

Eg : On my car the fuel flap is a totally different color (purple tinge in it when viewed in full sun) even though all the panels came out of the same factory with the same paint code

Pics of your results?

yea i have same probs with that color. commonly the age, but if u keep it nice from new, then it wont pop as much. Like wen i use touch up, the new paint is much brighter. So dont even bother

its best to take your car to a pro paint shop if its important to have an exact match I had the same prob as my paint in certain areas faded off/away and i got some touchup paint, the hood area didnt match exactly but it looked better than before....

Take it from somebody that paints cars for a living.....you cannot color match a car that old... the only way the color will match perfectly is to paint the whole car...

gotta blend...
if it's a large panel you'll probably enough up painting the entire side to get it to "match"
