i would have used a darker (more gunmetal) paint color, but the fact that you painted the shifter cover makes it 10x better than people that leave the shifter cover black.

It looks much better in person, the camera kinda exaggerates the "silver " effect..I want some white face gauges now..

Haha, nice. I remember when this was all the rage back in the day. I had my original ricey blue VE auto painted the same way but it was white. I even painted the plastic on the doors and the glove box handle. Had a big wing too

I keep mine on comfort in the city and power on the highway..i guess im doing it wrong..

and because i need motor mounts, it shifts pretty hard so thats the main reason i keep it on comfort..lessens the shock.

but back on topic -
looks good mang i wonder what else i planned for it

Heh, i seen a thread a few weeks ago with matt's interior pics, he had his dash parts painted silver, i thought....hmmmmmm, looks pretty good!

I wanted to freshen up the interior a little, ya know, some different scenery i might paint the door thingy's too

i never much cared for matt's interior, but given a) his contributions to the 3G community and b) the level of custom stuff he's made for his car and others, he can do any damn thing to his interior he feels like!

i actually might see how i like it with my spare dash pieces off the parts car... to paint them sort of a gunmetal color cuz i have the same color dash and everything. still gonna keep the black leather shfiter boot, but i would paint the plastic trim ring around it.

oh and if you do the white face gauges definitely get a set of those super-sexy chrome rings that Pearl93ve has.

there's probably a few SEs at the JY near me. last time we went we were looking for 77-89 ZX's, but i did take a spoiler off a gray VG SE last month. so whenever i come back for the fix-er-up parts for the white car, i can bring it with me, if you want. might be getting a job this week so if you don't find any white face gauges before, say, june, lemme know and i'll grab one for you.

Yes....the point is it looks professional and even. Did you use a HVLP Spray Gun, or Siphon Spray Gun to make it look that consistent...or just spray paint? It's hard to see in the photo.

2 or 4 screws depding (i think) if you had bose or non-bose. 2 are on the bottom recessed pretty far in, under cig lighter and under ash tray. the other 2 if you have them are angled upward a bit, above the headunit but under the climate control

nice, wayne. you may not care for Pearl's chrome rings, but I think they look good. it would compliment the "nickel" pieces, and (soon to be) SE cluster nicely.
(and when Pearly announced the chrome ring addition, at first I was like "chrome? "
then I saw it and was like "")

Altima uses the same wheel though... you can find some pretty decent condition wheels on Ebay if you search for old Altima, then just scan for the leather wrapped one's

I did that about 4 years ago. I also did the door parts as well as the air-duct grill surrounds. I still like how it looks. A little contrast is never a bad thing. Now if you go with a bright color, like say yellow or pink (seen both on various Mustangs and Saturns) that doesn't sit well for me.

That actually looks better than I thought, I seen others do this mod but it didn't look this good. Might just be me. I'm tempted to do this myself too.

Off-topic, How much would SE gauges go for at the JY? I asked a local jy, and was told $100. I think, and hope he just misunderstood what I meant.
