injector no resistance

i checked the resistance on my injectors and on the 3 that were bad, my multimeter stayed at 1 on on 2 of the good ones that i tested it gave me a reading of 11.1 and 11.3 also on a rail i gt from the j yard it did the same 2 of the gave a reading but 1 didnt.. wut does that mean?? ive read about resistance being too high but not no resistance.

Actually, a 0-1 reading is the most common way they fail on nissan injectors..Every single nissan injector i've ever diagnosed on my nissans and many other peoples nissan cars/trucks went bad in the same way, 0 reading on the multimeter..

Be sure you remove any corrosion(greenish looking crap) on the injectors poles before testing them, this corrosion could give you a false reading..

The bad ones in mine read OL "open line" with my Wavetek Digital Meter...like Greeny said make sure you clean the green corrosion off of the connector leads before you check them, I used CLR it really made that corrosion disappear.

Man, fuel injection is great....until it stops working. Damn injectors are so expensive. And if you replace one, then a another craps out and another. I know it sucks but once one goes and your up there on mileage you should just replace them all.

They are damn expensive. But I wouldn't replace them all, simply because it's too expensive. The repair itself is really easy...don't even need to jack up the car. Once you add on all the o-rings and insulator, your looking at a huge price tag for all of them. Who knows how long the working ones could go on. When 2 broke on me two years ago, the existing ones went on....but then another broke this year....so let's hope I could get more out of the OEM ones remaining.

Even if the injectors ohm out ok,... can't they still be "bad" ... say either stuck open or closed? (Kind of going through this with mine as well )

it's possible. i found 4 out of 6 injectors on a particular rail were not spraying at all, despite the resistance being within spec. it's not nearly as common as electrical failure tho.

How do you know for sure that they were not spraying fuel?

had the rail off the intake, spun distributor, only 2 sprayed. they all clicked but only 2 sprayed.

unsafe? yes. but i wanted to be sure that's what the problem was. i spent a good long while diagnosing it and the only logical thing was that only 2 cylinders were getting fuel.. which it did run on 2 cylinders, just, well, horribly. so eventually i got it to that point and verified the problem.

That's about what mine's running on as well ... Luckly I've got 6 decent ones from my other motor I can put on... . I may do that off the motor spray test just for the fun of it though if I've got to take it apart anyway

Good idea on the spray test. I had no idea they could test OK ohm - but still actually be malfunctioning. So caped, if 1 of the 6 were ohming OK, but 1 wasn't spraying, would this be enough to feel a rough idle?

any problem with any of the injectors is enough to cause a rough idle. durr.
