help unclogging moonroop drainage pipe

After rains recently water would spill onton the passenger seat when I came to my first full stop. I assumed the moonroof was leaking but, after searching the forums found that the culprit is a clogged drainage pipe/hose. The tip of this comes out behind the rear passenger tire. My question is: how do I access this so I can unclog it? The thread I found:

http://forums.maxima.org/3rd-generat...da-storms.html

doesn't have the photos linked any more so I can't figure out how to do this.

Any help would be great.

thanks,

John

moonroop?

anyhow I'm pretty sure you can use a metal coat hanger to clean out the drain hose passage, just cram it up in there..

Cars are alot like women in some ways..

Compressed air works as well. That's how I cleaned mine out.

I had this problem recently, and I think I was spraying out the right thing. I had a hole on either side toward the front of the moonroof opening, so I shot compressed air down that. But to me it sounded like it came out behind the front tires. Am I wrong?

The drain hoses are on the rear of the sunroof unit, they run down through the c pillars on each side of the car, exiting out by the rear mudflaps..

After I started this thread I poked around the trunk and found I could access the tubes via the jack compartment. I unhooked the black tube and it had a bunch of gunk in it, including those helicoptor seeds. Anyway, I thinks its clear.

Are you able to access the front of the tubes via the moon rooF?

thanks,

John

yeah. Open it all the way and you will see a hole on either side about the size of a dime. Hook up you air attachement on your compressor and blow the lines out.
