exhaust manifold gasket and/or intake manifold gasket

exhaust manifold gasket and/or intake manifold gasket

well im starting on my injector change{93 gxe} but i wanna kno do i have to change both of these because the intake manifold gasket is $56 and i dont wanna spend it if i dont have 2. also i used a small screw driver and wedged it on the side of the injector and popped it out in no time{rail from junk yard} i know some ppl say they catch hell getting thenm out of the rail. ANY TIPS ON THE JOB WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!! thnx

you only need the plenum gasket when doing injector changes

You must be talking about the bottom intake manifold gasket for $56. You will not remove the intake manifold, so you do not need that gasket. Do replace the upper gaskets, one is $3 and the other $11. You'll also need two o rings (large and small) for each injector removed. Double check whether you have yellow or green dot injectors prior to buying replacements.

Might I also suggest replacing your left hand rocker cover gasket (cylinders 2,4,6) since the upper intake manifold collector will be removed. It's a pain to get to, and since everything will be off, best do it now, even if it isn't leaking.

i dont know what a rocker cover is but as far as the injectors go im taking them out 2 morrow didnt feel like bothing with it today, i cant see the dots i guess they faded away so ill try 2 look harder when i pull them out. im gettin the replacemwnts from the junk yard because i bout red tops which was wrong so im getting pink tops now... i just need it 2 work for a a couple months then ill try 2 replace all 6 with brand new ones. thnx 4 the info guyz!!!!!!

yeah definitely don't use red tops. i made the mistake of convincing myself "aw it'll be alright" and now i'm struggling to get 200 miles out of a tank of gas (used to get 400-450mi per tank), and my engine makes mischievous noises at startup.

rocker cover = valve cover (red metal things that cover each bank of cylinders' heads. the rear rocker cover is where your oil fillernck is)
