This car is a real PIMA !!!!

I was searching through some threads a few days back and came across the fuel line/ gas lines rusting threads, so I decided to really inspect mine. I got under there and took the plastic shield off the undercarriage and wanted to cry. The lines were nasty. So I got like 6 cans of rust stopping paint and coated them till the cans ran out. Now a few days later my brake light has come on. The fluid is low and I know the hard lines are the problem because everything else has been replaced. It's one thing after the next with this car. By the time I'm done, I'll have replaced everything, front to back. I'm at the point now that when I sell it, there is no chance in hell that I'm going to recoup anywhere near whats been invested. If I didn't need this car so bad right now, I would smash it into a wall, then punch myself in the mouth.

Yeah, I know, it's old. But I've had older and not close to as many problems as with this car. Whoever owned the car before me was a complete douche. People like that have no business driving because they are a hazard. Sorry, had to vent.

To everyone else who hasn't done so, I suggest you take a look.

Funny thing is im in the same boat with the fuel lines, im thinking about replacing all of the hard lines under the car. I already have the motor out and the front end/engine bay gutted to rust-coat everything (frame rails, inner fenders, strut towers, underbody...) so at this point its a might-as-well-replace thing

how bad is your rust right now? not just the lines but the rest of the car?

The rest of the car is solid. It had a lot of surface rust underneath but I cleaned it up and sprayed the **** out of it with rust preventive paint. The fuel filler had a good bit of rust on it, but I wire brushed it and painted it. When I had the rear seat out when I was wiring my amp I checked out the rear strut tower and everything looked pretty good.

I want to just rip out all the lines and do it right, but I know how bad it's going to suck. Not to mention the cost of oem lines. If I do replace them I'll probably just buy a spool of line and bend everything myself. I'm tired of spending money on this car.

You might as well replace the lines now. Now is the time to do it. Especially since your going through all that work and you have an open engine bay.
