Question regarding BBK Swaps

Yes i did search before i posted this

Has anyone done a Z32 big brake kit swap?

I saw ColombianMax's thread about the Z31 swap but was wondering if anyone in particular has done the Z32 swap?

If so, how feasible is it and what all parts do you need...better yet, if anyone has a write-up that would be great

for which, front or rear?

for the front, a J30/Q45 rotor with 3mm milled off the OD, and a z32 caliper will fit, with custom brake lines (i THINK matt blehm sells them....)

in the rear, the issue is that the z32 rear brakes are a drum-in-hat design. drum shoes inside the rotor for the parking brake, and a hydraulic-only dual-opposing-piston caliper for the brake pedal. so you'd have to figure out a way to rig all that up to get a z32 rear kit on there.

well if you wanna really do it itl be a pain, but it can be done, with enough money and hella skill of course, therte is a short cut though the parking brake caliper i tink' willwood makes it cuts out the whole internal drumb thingy.

Really? Is that a rear BBK that would fit a third gen? Tell us more about it? Where can we find such a Wilwood setup for a rear BBK? I know they sell one for the front. I've seen it on eBay, about $800.

now that i think about it, why not just weld on support brackets to the exsisting caliper bracket, inbolt the hyd hose from the regular calipers put a fitting on there and a hose wher eit can BREATHE without sucking up sand, and attach the hyd hose to the z32 caliper that way you have the same basic setup without spending all that money,

oh hell yeah ima do this......

just gotta get some calipers....

The Z31 rear bbk of course. It's what I ran and used to make brackets for. I no longer make the rear bbk brackets. But I'd consider it if I got 5 or more paid customers.

Still miss my polished calipers
