VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FROM THE DRIVER SIDE OF CAR!

MY Maxima has been vibrating alot lately, well since I bought it. And I cant pinpoint whats causeing it. At speeds of 75 and above, it is more evident, and it is coming from the driverside all the time. I have replaced the tie rod ends, the struts, and the rack and pinion boot on that side of the car. Could it be the ball joint thats causeing the vibration??? The CV joint has a tear in the inner boot thats been there for a while, and I didnt bother to replace the boot as I have never done cv joint work before, even though they sell individual boots at the parts stores. But i dont think that could be the cause of the vibration, the cv joint is not clicking or anything like that. SO I dont know what it is?? Help!! And this is on a 93 GXE

My CV joint was ripped and it caused the eventual failure of the driver side axle - and it was vibrating at first (no clicking sound) sort of lightly then got worse and worse...until finally I replaced that axle and it went away.

Most guys from this website said it couldn't be the axle...but don't forget most guys think they know everything

It's possible this may be your case too. It's next to impossible to test it though. Even if I shook the axle, I didn't notice anything too out of the ordinary...except for the grease was starting to come out and was clayish almost watery in some areas.

My 02 does this but on the passenger side. For mine its that bearing that holds the axle btw transmission and the hub.

Wheel balance, wheel alignment, worn wheel bearings, missing wheel-nuts ............. look at the obvious stuff first before you start chasing out of balance CVs and drive shafts though a badly torn CV boot with sections missing can cause a serious out of balance shaft assembly.

By the way, I'll add that, I drove it like that vibrating for almost a yr... so I don't know if there's any immediate danger if it really is the axle. I guess it depends how severe the shaking is. It got REALLY bad on mine, that I knew I had to just replace it.

And ya, check all the stuff guys suggested on here. Dig up my old post, and they may have suggested too.
