question about reserve radiator tank

question about reserve radiator tank

the other day i changed my battery and i noticed that the reserve radiator tank overflow hose wasint connected to anything i looked for the spot its supposed to connect to but i cant find it ,is it supposed to be like that so it spills out just in case. thanks if you know.

one just shoots down basically on the splash guard/ground- they don't sugarcoat the word overflow.

i think the design depends if you have abs or not. like mine (non abs... so, on the passenger side) has a 90-degree vent hole at the top, and then the hose fitting on the side that wraps underneath.

How much does a replacement tank cost, mine is a little dingy.

like $90 from the dealer..... high pressure water on the inside should clean yours up pretty good (and an improvised air filter on the vent tube will help prevent dirt from getting in as well)

true, my GXE was different I guess... tank is side mounted to the battery tie down bracket now and has a angle cut hose aimed down into the engine.

ABS FTL, just picked up a new actuator (thingy with the steel lines coming out of it) - looks fun to install. Mine is leaking out of the valve body :-X

i dunno... i wish i had ABS coming home from maxus 2 weeks ago. flatspotted both front tires avoiding a deer
