still having cruise control issues - help
I've already replaced: C/C motor/cable pulley under the hood, C/C on/off switch, Resume/Accel etc switch on wheel, kill-switch on the brake pedal, C/C module next to the steering column. I've also tested another steering wheel hub/adapter - nothing. please help. i have a 91 GXE.
Symptoms: the C/C power switch on the dash gets power and the green light comes on, but C/C never engages.

Is the unit itself under the hood "loose" by any chance? I remember my brother retrofitted cruise control into his Civic a few years back, and it didn't work even though he was sure it was all wired 100% and everything. It turned out to be something goofy with the unit itself under the hood not being level. He fabbed up mounting hardware for it and it was kind of angled, and he found out it would only work when it was nearly perfectly horizontal with the ground

Does it work intermittently? I noticed about a year and a half ago that my cruise control stopped working, but then after a few months it randomly started working again, and has been working ever since

My cruise recently stopped working and it ended up being a loose fuse (I think). I checked the relays and fuses multiple times but I finally got fed up and pulled all the fuses in the fuse box and put them back in. The next thing I new my cruise was working again.

The ASCD shares a a few fuses, one of which is the horn. Since you checked all the fuses, does your horn work? My horn did not work when my cruise quit. If it does, check the ASCD relay and make sure that it is getting twelve volts.

The horn def works, I'll have to get a voltmeter to the relay though. Any other specific fuses to check or anything else?

I looked up ASCD in my service manual (1994) and see that the system is connected to 7 fuses on the panel (left of driver's seat). This is the only fuse box that I know of.
Left column:
10A 5th from top
10A 7th from top
10A 8th from top
15A 11th from top
10A 13th from top
Right column:
10A 7th from top
10A 10th from top
Once you see if the relay is getting 12 volts or not, you can tell if the problem is before or after the relay.

Also, in what section of your 1994 FSM did you find that info? I have a 1989 FSM that I use for my 91.

Well i have a 89 and have had cruise problems on and off for over 5 years.
Always the main switch on the dash will power up but sometimes the cruise will not activate when you hit the steering wheel buttons. When it did work it would randomly drop out of cruise while travelling along sometimes after a small bump etc. Used to work well cruising on the freeway.
Last month the speedo started giving erratic speeds and quite often would stick in one spot no matter what speed you did.
Luckily i had a spare from an instrument cluster i got off a wreck several years ago.......Swapped them out and the cruise control has worked flawlessly since and i use it all the time. Seemingly the speedo unit processes signals and send them to the ECU ( which is a given) and cruise control units. Mine also has the sonar electronic adjustable suspension and that used to have lots of problems and it also has been working correctly since the speedo was changed! Who would have thought of that eh!!! Vee
