ArGh! Stupid frost broke my wiper linkage?
Grr, this happened yesterday. I wasn't expecting frost on the windshield so I just turned on the wipers thinking it was just water. Well, one wiper made it up, the other went up a few inches and proceeded to collide with the other wiper. Unfortunately it's the driver's side that's broken
I think I may have broken the linkage between the two, but funny thing is the broken one still tries to go up a couple inches, even though if I move it with my hand it moves freely. Also the wiper looks like it's protruding higher up (out of the cowl) than it should.
Assuming it's the linkage or maybe the pivot at worst, how hard is this to do? The dealership said it's a pain in the neck (of course), and an old thread I looked at used the word b*tch to describe replacing a plastic balljoint inside. Can anyone tell me what's involved and how much trouble it is? I just want to know if I'll be spending hours fishing for things and cursing and should just take it to the dealer instead.
Thanks

hehe....the word b*tch is correct...it really is just a pain in the a$$ to do. you just have to get the cowl off remove the old link and get the new one off...sounds easy but there isn't much room to work with....i did it myself...probably took about an hour or so
