Is there much of a market for used Engine parts?

Hey guys,.. I've got my old engine sitting around and started thinking that even though several of the valves might be bent on the heads,.. surely the heads as a "core" would sell if a person needed a set,.. then I started thinking of other parts on the engine that might be "Sellable" ?? ... intake, valve covers,.. and so on..

Has anybody had any luck selling parts like these on ebay or craigslist? .. or is it not even worth messing with?

I just thought it might be nice to try and recoupe some money on the new motor by selling some parts off of the old one???..

Thanks,
Rick

EBAY- People are always looking for the oddest things. If you have what they need, they will pay...

Stick them on eBay

There's some "Maxima specialist" guy on there selling (or trying to sell?) used Maxima and I30 parts for completely outrageous prices. Just undercut him by a good deal and you should be good to go

engines will be in high demand courtesy of the cash for clunkers program.
one of it's requirements is that the dealer must PERMANENTLY disable the motor.

The Maxima isn't on the list because the mpg is too high.

Might be a slight demand for VGs because of the Pathfinder and Quest.

cash for clunkers list

Still, when it comes to engine parts, there is always someone that will buy something for the right price. When I disassembled my original engine I sold every single piece except for the bottom end of the block, the chains and a couple of misc brackets. That stuff I took to the scrapper and he gave me $20.

Oh, and I had a few JDM pieces left over because it came from an AT. I still have the JDM upper and lower intakes and I think the AC compressor.
