Where the heck do you get wheel hubs online? I checked the JY and for the life of me I could not get some of the bolts of. Maybe it was just me.

Had the recent experience of a wheel flying off the car on the freeway. Thus grinding the control arm to **** + rotor.

Guess it's good of me to keep with the Max!

I am. hoping to score one on car-parts.com since I have no ride to the JY to re-attempt.

If anyone wants to see the carnage from my ****ty camera phone.

It looks like all you need are wheel studs, or am I missing something? Why don't you just get 5 wheel studs and replace them?

Well I have to change the hub on the driver side and I thought. might as well.... but I should just get some studs to make it drivable again.

Sorry if I hijack the thread but how hard is it to take out and put in a wheel stud? I stripped the thread on one of them on one of my wheels so I will need to replace it.

What's wrong with the hub? Does it just need a new bearing (if you are replacing the hub only, you will need one, anyway)?

there are a few guys parting out ve-autos, in the classifieds, may hit one of them up for a new one.

I drove too long on a bad bearing. I may goto the JY tomorrow for half priced goodies.

not sure.

That's incredible. Wheel flying off? By the way I always wondered what happens when your on the highway and it happens. Are you actually able to control the car a bit just to get it onto the shoulder.

Wheel literally flew off the car (before smacking into the back of the fender and making the door threshhold -14)

I was able to ride on the rotor to the shoulder. dunno how, it coulda been MUCH worse. we actually glided prolly 150-200ft before fully stopping.

I know i tightened the lugs the last time I put a wheel on. guess I should periodically check now.

Either way. retapping studs tomorrow and its off to the yard if possible needs a new fender!
