Audi LED headlight mod....

Anyone have any success with this on a 3rd gen? I am finding all kinds of 5th and 6th gens with them but no 3rd. Putting together my order so that I can get it done next weekend but was hoping for some pointers.

Maybe I will be the first......

Also going with blue LED in the interior - just replaced my door lights with LEDs and will hit the dash and the other stock lights next weekend as well if time allows. Also adding strips to the interior and trunk.

I seen it before in some red 3rd gen. there's a thread w/ the car floating around here somewhere. Black euros w/ single projector retro and led strip along the top IIRC. my brother did the same thing on his 93 prelude. looks like gay fairy twinkles if you ask me. but on a show car it's just for show right.

no it was the tard that insisted that it was OK to put HIDs in stock headlights and swore to got that he had "never blinded anyone"... which of course, unless you pull pepole over and ask "hey did i blind you?" there's no way to know...

i don't know , i think you just have to play with it some more and see how it turns out but being outside on top of the headlight and under the hood looks weird. also, get the frame for that euro tag and center it as well. then lower the car. but keep messing around with the l.e.d.'s.

Yah I knew they would be a little short when I bought them, but they only cost me 5 bucks shipped, so I couldnt resist. It only took me 5 mins to set it up too. Once I get clear headlamps Ill do a better and more permanent setup.

Thanks for the advice too, I'd like to get eibach lowering springs but there so damn expensive, at least for me. I was too lazy to fix the tag after I put it on hahaha.

I looked at the red car in the other thread and am not sure that I like the LEDs going up the middle and over the top. I think I am going to go across the bottom and up the outside. I do like the rounder corner from going up the middle though.

Any thoughts?

This is what I am ordering - won't have it for this weekend though as they are out of stock.......

Was looking at the E36 lights and wondered if I could pull the Audi look in it as well, doesn't look like I could do it as cleanly on the outside edge. I currently have what I believe are called the Euro lights - clear lens.

I also am loading up on the flexible LEDs thta they have in the blue for under the dash, under the front seats and in the storage bins in the door. Will get some for under the hood and in the grille on the Stillen Kit as well.

I like LEDs!!!

It wouldn't mess with your signal flasher if you have a load resistor inline with your LED board. I plan on switching just about everything over to LED when I'm finally back working again. I hate being stuck on minimal unemployment benefits.

So to clarify, do those flexible LEDs you linked to need a separate resistor that I supply, or do they come ready to go? [for 12v power]

If your using them as DRLs, then no resistor is required. Just tap into the 194 marker lights in the corner housings.

Well - the lights arrived today. Many thanks to kzoosho from the board for his handywork!!!

Ended up going with Euro housings, FX-35 R projectors with clear lenses, and flexible LED strips from Oznium. I bought the projectors/ballasts from The Retrofit Source. Going to take more pics tomorrow as I install and will probably go ahead and put my clear corners on.

Close-up of the Euro-housing, used the Gatlin bezels.

Top View with LEDs on

Both with LEDs on

Darker room with LEDs on

Will post more as I take them.

It is the black housing. Thanks, I am really happy with them.

A lot more expensive than I had originally thought, but I am set on doing my '92 right.
