VTC Problems

Just got back from my Nissan dealer. Talked with a mechanic there and he said he had heard of grounding the selenoid on the VTC but had never attempted the procedure. Instead of grounding, he suggested that simply unplugging the VTC's woudl have the same effect. Anyone ever heard of this? Is this different than grounding?

I would like to hear about this problem and solutions

Bump

Is this problem covered in the FAQ's? If not, can someone explain the symptoms and the fix?

Thanks,
Dave Flaherty

VTCs are discussed in the FAQs because I wrote it. Grounding procedure is covered in Craig B's site. Search the forum for his name and go to his webpage.
