i could get a little over 400 miles out of a tank in my 92 SE. but now i'm having trouble getting 350ish. does that seem funny to anyone else. I put a new fuel filter in, but i don't know if it was the right one or not. The numbers matched up but there was a difference if there was an E in the vin number. anyone know what that was for or about? I have the twin cam 190 hp motor. anyway, it just seemed funny to me.

350 doesnt sound to bad, its about what I get outta mine. Have you replaced your o2 sensor? That's usually a sign of bad gas mileage when that goes out. I keep meaning to have mine replaced.

Huge deposits on the throttle body

also can affect the mpg as well as idle smoothness.
It's easy to clean there, and in any case you'll get some improvement.

Good luck,

Thats not bad at all...

I get 150 on a full tank with most driving coming from the highway. Fuel filter, sparks, O2 sensor... etc... all play a role,

Wow 150 is terrible. I can get at least 300 from mine and thats racing a hooked up car every chance I get. If I take it easy for a whole tank I get near 400. You should really look into your )2 sensor if your only getting 150 or so.

92GXE, touring wing, 18” racing wheels, Port&Polished intake, custom intake, custom yellow interior, racing seats, back seats taken out and replaced with subs and amps, NOS kit, Suspension tech. Lowering springs, custom grille, soon to be custom painted and have the whole engine rebuilt for big shot NOS and custom SC and tranny converted to 5-speed

Haven't ran the tank dry, but I'd probably get close to 350ish. Local Shell station has 6 cents off premium every tuesday, so regardless of mileage, I fill up then. Mine's a stick too and I dont baby it

I usually get around 340 but have gotten 380 a tank. But, this is only after I did all my mods and adjustments. When I first bought the car, I only got about 270 and it is a stick also. I wonder if poor gas miliage in a stick is a sign of clutch slippage? And I know this has been asked, but what exactly is the best number for advancing your timing. I went from 16 fact. to 23 advanced then backed it off just a little cause I thought I saw some signs of detonation on my plugs. So what is recommended, 5 over?
