Newbie -- Need tips
I just got a 1994 Maxima and love the ride. I would like to know some performance suggestions as far as some simple things like intake, exhaust, pullies, etc. No nitrous yet, as it has like 142K miles on it but runs pretty strong. All $.02 welcome! Thanks!
You got the SE or GXE?
HoooWee!! You could write a book on what everyone can and will suggest to you, in terms of mods. Least expensive mod would probably be to change the air filter. From there, it depends on what you want the end result to be.
Want more power? Intake and exhaust mods are the key!
Want performance? Drop some 'ducats' into suspension mods!
Sky's the limit, bro!! Welcome to the wonderful world of Maxima!! Enjoy the ride!!

go to the main page... www.maxima.org and browse the FAQ's...everything you need to know about simple mods and what's available etc.
Is it an auto or stick? If it's an auto, you've got the GXE, otherwise, you do the math. Best thing to do first is get a repair manual. Chilton's is best, IMO. They sell at www.autotrader.com for about 12 bucks, shipping included. This will tell you almost everything you need to know, and keep you from posting stupid questions like I did before I got my book. Like the other guys said, there really is no limit to what you can do to a Max, provided you have money and time. (Neither of which I have had much of lately) Good Luck!

here's a few things for you to check...
if you have an SE you should have: spoiler, fogs, white faced gauges, dual tipped muffler, color matched grille, non color matched mirrors (they will be black)...
since those are easy to swap i want you to pop your hood...if your motor resembles this:

then you have a GXE...if it looks like something else then you have an SE

Thanks for the tips, but I honestly have no idea if it's an SE or GXE, how can I tell?

Personally, I think both of you did a terrible job! I'm still really confused as to whether I have a GXE or an SE! What are "gauges" and "mufflers" and Craig, you think we really have time to go to your webpage, just so we can learn whether we have a GXE or an SE? I certainly do not.
