Tranny Cooler

I just read the sticky at the top, but I have a few more questions. I'm replacing the old transmission and I have hard that you should put an aftermarket tranny cooler in because the old tranny may have plugged up the factory cooler. Is this true? Also, should I just completely bypass the factory cooler in the radiator to keep the crap from the old transmission getting into the new one from the factory cooler? I'm wondering if just the aftermarket cooler would be sufficient enough. Thanks for the help!
