water in spare tire compartment

I got water in the spare tire area. How does water accumulate in here? I have a mechanics suit in the trunk and some towers and they are not wet. I once recall having a roll of paper towels in the trunk and they felt lightly moist, but not wet.

I had a noticeable amount of water in the spare tire area. Some where between a cup or two.

Anyone?

I have the same problem. I would check the seals around your tail lights. Being that my entire rear right quarter was rebuilt with bondo and nothing really lines up straight, water leaks through my rear right light. It is slight, but noticeable and it does accumulate. I would also, as mentioned earlier, check your trunk lid seal and any possible rust holes.

That's not going to fixing the problem at hand.

The seals around your taillights are leaking. Run some silicone sealer around the top edge of your taillights ( where they meet the metal, under the trunklid) and see if your leaks stop.

The trunk is huge - get in there with a torch/light, close the lid, and have somebody flood all around every seal with a garden hose ................ no guessing where it leaks - you will know exactly.
