Any Way to Prevent Whatever it Is From Opening Driver Door with Key?

Something electronically is stopping me from turning the key to open the drivers door. I removed the fuse for the Security system, and that didn't do anything. I can open the door fine with the key for the passenger side front.

Anybody know a way to disable this? I don't need the OEM security system so if severing some wire will fix this problem, let me know.

Any assistance appreciated. Thank-you.

you sure the key is not worn differently than the tumblers? I can open the drivers side door just fine, but the passenger/trunk is really a chore.

Same here, i would put some graphite in the tumbler but im not sure if that is wise with automotive locks.

Furthermore I don't need you to tell me that this statement is not needed and i have some mental issue or some problem with you posting on here.

OK thanks - i'll check each thing to see if I can fix. Right now I can only enter the car by opening the passenger door, then reaching over and popping up the lock on drivers side. Very annoying, to the point I just leave it unlocked now.

this feature maybe just for the drivers side but, if you turn the key to unlock a second time
all the locks unlock

I tried the second time tactic magician, it doesn't work. I'll try all the other suggestions once I get around to it. I forgot to mention the power door locks don't work anymore, as in using the keypad or the button inside.

Is there a way I can attach a PDF to a message in this forum? I have a PDF about loose wheel nuts that you guys should read. Surprisingly, there are many accidents every week, mostly by trucks I think, but i collected some interesting info.

I don't think that any of the electrical door lock mechanism is causing 1993-VG30-GXE's problem. I think that some of the mechanical linkage has fallen apart, the linkage is connected and held together by plastic.

Replaced my timer with one that was tested and known to work and no change to my issues.

How do you know your problem is electronic? Maybe something in the lock froze up which is more common then an electric problem. Thats normally the problem when a key doesn't want to turn. My door lock timer is bad, but that only causes the other doors to not open automatically when I turn the drivers side lock. And during cold weather only. When it's warm out, I don't have a door lock timer problem at all.

Edit: Wouldn't hurt to shoot some WD into that key hole and play with it. Just a thought.

It's very intermittent now, sometimes it's working now, the power locks, other times it doesn't. During the times it works, the drivers side still won't open with the key. But i'll deal with this in the spring. It's not a big issue, but too cold now.
