Does the Cooling system need to be bled???
No one knows? I never clogged the hose. The mechanic simply said the heater core was fine early on (first thing he checked), no air pockets, no blockage internally, vacuum lines worked, all switches and valves working correctly. I have to believe this was not the issue as he said. He systematically tracked down the problem. The clue he received was when adding antifreeze, there was a gurgling effect as the radiator slowly took more fluids in, plus that hose going to the heater core was cold when it was supposed to be hot . There was leaking from a bad upper radiator hose clamp, but that was quickly resolved. The fluid was struggling in getting past the thermostat. It's always great to see someone who knows what he is doing, there is one for every ten that don't know, or simply guess. he didn't guess.
OK, time for a stupid question....
.... are we talking about a VE or a VG? Cause I have had trouble burping the VG with the 10 mm bolt on the top drivers side corner of the pelinum. I had once where it was clogged and had to stick a wire down in it to clear it out and get fluid to flow. After any work on the cooling system I always jack up the front end and open that bleeder hole and never had problems after. Just not sure if the VE has that same option....

Well I guess you learn something new every day huh..... well actually I learned two things here.
1) The 3rd gen VE has the same coolant bleeder valve as the VG...
2) Just because it is posted in the 3rd gen forum dosent mean we are talking about a 3rd Gen..... hahaha
