Taillight Question Please Help

Hey! A while ago my driver's side tailight was cracked and now I need to replace it. I was looking on Ebay and I saw some that were used and for sale. But they look a lot different then the one's that I have now. My car is a '94 GXE. And maybe these came off of a SE, but I'm not sure. Are there different styles? And will anyone of them fit on my car. Because it says that it is for an 89-94 Maxima. Here is a picture of what they look like. The one's on my car now, have the chrome trim above the clear portion of the tailight. And for some reason my tailights look alot bigger than the ones in the pic.

Those kinda look like mine except (and because of the clarity of the pic, I can't be sure) my reverse lights don't wrap completely around the lens structure, but are rounded off. I remember seeing some web site or another describe the differences between different years.

Re: Taillight Question Please Help

Hey, i know for a fact that they will Look different, because, i believe the SE has the reflector in the center more visable. But what you should do is call up the local Nissan dealer and ask for the difference. Ask if there is a difference in part numbers for the SE and GXE trim taillight assembly and if so, what is different. The size really should not be different, but he or she who answers the phone at Nissan should be able to tell you. Carparts should do the same thing for you, where there, they get stock parts through nissan anyway and have inventory lists and part numbers as well.

the 3rd gens have 4 different taillights total
89-91 SE
89-91 GXE
92-94 SE
92-94 GXE
on my site (http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte671n/mymax.html), in the how-to section, I have a thing about telling the difference between SE and GXE and also 89-91/92-94 with pics to compare
I know the lights from any of those will physically fit the others, but I think I remember someone saying the bolts on the outer taillights are different from 89-91 and 92-94 but I dont know for sure. You could probably drill your own holes in there if you needed to; noone is ever going to see behind them anyway

Thank you to everyone that replied to my post here. So overall everyone thinks that it should fit huh? Well I think that I'm gonna go for it and buy for the driver and passenger side lights so that it will match and hope that it fits well. They are too bad in price, so I'll probably get them. Thank You Again!!!

if you do that make sure you eventually find an 89-91SE center panel because the tailights won't match your current panel

Yeah, thank you for reminding me about the center panel. I didnt even think about that. What exactly does the center panel on a SE look like compared to the GXE. Could someone attach a picture if possible please. Thank You!!!
