i know it sounds pathetic to the veterans of mechanics but.. im a noob at this so im pretty proud to say that i took the throttle chamber off my can and cleaned it and put it back.. with out ****ing anything up!
haha
turns out it actually helps alot.. i think the chamber wasnt cleaned since the factory.. lol. it was nasty as hell.. caked on god-knows-wat..
i THINK that its improved throttle responce.. its a little more peppy now.. lol
anyways.. yeah.. sorta a useless thread.. has anybody else done this and can prove that it does help and in wat way?

lol no more "wait for it.... wait for it... SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH" at stoplights. My buddy's 4th gen has THE stickiest throttle body ever and it's almost impossible to pull away smoothly from a stop.

Congratulations. Now you can spend all that money you save by doing maintenance yourself on tools so you can do the fixing! ![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
(I thought about trying to fix my busted 5 speed transmission myself - until I looked at the tools required in the FSM....

really? you took teh tb apart and cleaned it, but are still intimidated by a fuel filter?
pull the fuel pump fuse, run the engine until it dies, shut the engine off, pull the fuel filter off teh bracket, loosen the two hose clamps, remove old fuel filter.
installation is reverse of removal.

I'd recommend a Nissan replacement filter.
