yeah. im sorta proud of myself.. lol

i know it sounds pathetic to the veterans of mechanics but.. im a noob at this so im pretty proud to say that i took the throttle chamber off my can and cleaned it and put it back.. with out ****ing anything up!
haha

turns out it actually helps alot.. i think the chamber wasnt cleaned since the factory.. lol. it was nasty as hell.. caked on god-knows-wat..
i THINK that its improved throttle responce.. its a little more peppy now.. lol

anyways.. yeah.. sorta a useless thread.. has anybody else done this and can prove that it does help and in wat way?

haha i love the instant gratification of doing *successful* work on a car. Plus learning how to use a wrench on my max has been great. GJ.

lol no more "wait for it.... wait for it... SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH" at stoplights. My buddy's 4th gen has THE stickiest throttle body ever and it's almost impossible to pull away smoothly from a stop.

Congratulations. Now you can spend all that money you save by doing maintenance yourself on tools so you can do the fixing!

(I thought about trying to fix my busted 5 speed transmission myself - until I looked at the tools required in the FSM....)

really? you took teh tb apart and cleaned it, but are still intimidated by a fuel filter?
pull the fuel pump fuse, run the engine until it dies, shut the engine off, pull the fuel filter off teh bracket, loosen the two hose clamps, remove old fuel filter.
installation is reverse of removal.

You left out " have rag handy so fuel coming out of hose and filter doesn't get all over everything". You are right, changing a filter should not be intimidating...it's a piece of cake. 15-30 minutes even if you have to wipe up some fuel.

I'd recommend a Nissan replacement filter.

Kick panel, driver side by the foot rest. Remove the piece of interior trim and on the back of it it tells what each fuse is for.
